Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds Family Photographer
I had the pleasure of photographing the Puckey family in Bury St Edmunds this year. When Gemma got in touch to arrange the session, she expressed how she wanted a sunny, spring time outdoor photo-shoot. As a Bury St Edmunds family photographer, I suggested Nowton Park. To my delight, Gemma mentioned that they go there often, so it’s familiar territory for the children. I feel that this really shows in the photos. The children were so relaxed, running around care-free and happily showing me their favourite spots in Nowton Park.
As with all my family photo-shoots, I mostly take a documentary style approach. This means I suggest the children run free, in order to capture their true personalities, and only bring them in for short intervals for family photos. The result is lots of natural photos with real smiles.
Originally, we wanted to use the pretty, bright daffodils as a backdrop for our session. However, due to lots of rain we had to postpone (the first time I’ve ever had to postpone a shoot!). Unfortunately, at the time of our shoot, the daffodils had mostly wilted. This worked out well in the end as the kids got to show me their favourite ditches and bridges, and the best places to run and jump. Fast shutter speed at the ready!
A special thanks to Charlotte, for gifting a photo-shoot certificate to Gemma and Ben. Certificates for photo-shoots make such lovely, thoughtful gifts. They are perfect for newborns, family photo-shoots and make for great wedding gifts. Please email me for further details: email@example.com
