Wedding FAQ: Questions to ask your wedding photographer
Wedding FAQ regarding the booking process, travel, engagement shoots and more.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am a Suffolk wedding photographer based 30 mins from Bury St Edmunds/approx. 30 minutes from Cambridge but I’m available for weddings anywhere in the UK. I love exploring our beautiful country! If you are considering booking me, I would be honoured to photograph your wedding wherever it may be.
Do travel costs apply?
Petrol costs are included everywhere in the UK. Occasionally a small travel fee may apply for more remote locations that require an overnight stay. Please use the contact form to find out.
Do we get to meet you beforehand?
Once you’ve booked me, I am available to meet up in person or we can skype/email. We can talk through the details and communicate our expectations so everything runs smoothly on the day.
Currently, I am offering complimentary engagement shoots with all full day bookings. We can get to know each other better and you will go away feeling more comfortable in front of the camera. This results in you looking and feeling more comfortable and relaxed on your wedding day. Plus, you receive some pretty great photos!
We would love to book you. What’s next?
There is a wedding photography agreement for us both to sign and a deposit to be paid. The agreement is signed online via adobe sign.
How many photos do you take?
I take an unlimited number of photos, meaning I will photograph the events of the day seamlessly without a cap once I reach a certain number. My aim is to photograph the story of your day. I don’t even check how many photos I have taken until I get home and upload them!
How many photos do we receive?
You will receive approx. 400-600 photos for my full day package. A specific number can’t be guaranteed as every wedding is unique. The number of photos given depends on factors such as the details, how long the ceremony lasts, the number of guests, speeches… and all sorts of other things! I’m sure you will agree that quality beats quantity.
What is included in the price?
My most popular package includes approx. 9 hours of wedding photography (full day), designed to cover getting ready before the ceremony up until the end of the first dance. Investment for full day photography is currently £1295 including a complimentary engagement shoot. A second photographer is an additional £250. For more detailed information on this and bespoke packages please use the contact form.

What exactly do we have to do for the couple portraits?
At golden hour (gorgeous evening light) you can have informal portraits taken. We will find somewhere pretty and quiet and away from your guests. Then, I will simply photograph the two of you being yourselves. I may direct you in terms of where to stand, but the photos won’t be posed in the traditional sense. If you’ve had the engagement shoot (which I highly recommend) you will know exactly what to expect and what feels comfortable for you. It’s really a lovely time where you can give each other a big hug, take in the events of the day and have a laugh. It may be the first time you are alone all day (except for me being the professional third wheel!).
How and when will we receive the photos?
During peak wedding season (the height of summer) it usually takes 6-8 weeks for me to hand-edit and deliver the photos of a full day wedding. The high-res photos will be presented in a password protected online gallery. You can download them, share and make copies. Your gallery may only take a couple of weeks or less to be completed during quieter times.
Family and friends can also download the photos at no additional cost.
Do you have any other questions? Please send me a message through the contact form. I aim to reply within 24-48 hours.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
